NIGHT DEVOTION

NIGHT PRAYER

For I know that this shall turn to

my salvation through your prayer,

and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus

Christ,

From: Philippians 1:19

INSPIRATION

In this passage, Paul rejoices,

though he is in prison. He

proclaims that, whatever the

motive people have for

proclaiming Christ, He is still being

proclaimed. And Paul rejoices in

this. His "distress" has advanced

the cause of Christ. Instead of

complaining and lamenting his

imprisonment, he sees it as a tool

that will bring attention to Christ.

Celebrities have a saying: "There's

no such thing as bad publicity."

Any publicity, negative or positive,

brings attention to the celebrity

and makes him even more famous.

This is Paul's attitude towards this

negative position he finds himself

in. Though he is suffering, Christ is

still in the spotlight. And to Paul

this is all that matters.

PRAYER

Lord, let me be like Paul. Through

my trials, let me point the light,

not at myself, but towards You. Let

every thing I do bring You glory,

that Your name will be proclaimed

in all situations. Amen.
